With all the plaudits going to recruiting classes at Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Auburn in the SEC, Kentucky's signees rated nary a mention on the national scene.
But coach Rich Brooks, whose Wildcats have won back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 1951-52 after capturing consecutive Music City Bowls, is skeptical about such ratings.
"I've never felt that two bowl game wins would turn Kentucky into a top-10 recruiting class," Brooks said. "For the most part, I don't believe in the top-10 recruiting class rankings nationally. We have beaten, in the last two years, two, three, four teams who have top-10 recruiting classes almost every year.
